Ishraq's 10-day remand application, hearing on Thursday


Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has applied for a 10-day remand of BNP leader Engineer Ishrak Hossain in a case filed at Paltan police station in the capital regarding the false identification of a person named Mia Zahidul Islam Arefi alias Mia Arefi as an adviser to US President Joe Biden. In this regard, a hearing will be held tomorrow Thursday (May 30) in Dhaka's Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in the presence of Ishraq.

On Wednesday (May 29), the investigation officer of the case, DB Inspector Md. Kabir Hossain Howladar informed the remand application. He applied for remand on May 26.

It is known that Ishraq applied for bail in 12 cases on May 19. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Assamach Jaglul Hossain granted bail in 11 cases but denied bail in the sedition case filed at Paltan police station. Later he was sent to jail.

On October 29, a person named Mohiuddin Shikder filed this case in Paltan Police Station of the capital as a plaintiff. Mia Arefi, retired Lt. Gen. Hasan Sarwardi and BNP leader Ishraq Hossain were accused in the case.
