Occupying Israel has launched a terrible attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria. At least 8 people were killed in this attack, including a commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
On Monday (April 1), the attack took place in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
“Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Majeh, Damascus,” Syrian state news agency SANA reported.
A Lebanese security source told Reuters news agency that the attack killed a senior Revolutionary Guard commander, Mohammad Reza Zahidi.
The building of the Iranian consulate was completely destroyed by the attack carried out by the Israelis. A plume of smoke could be seen coming out of the building after the attack.
However, occupying Israel refused to comment on the attack.
The Syrian Defense Ministry said the Israeli strike completely collapsed the Iranian consulate building and injured or killed all those inside the building.
However, Hossein Akbari, the Iranian ambassador to Syria, and none of his family members were injured in the Israeli attack. They were not present at the consulate building that was attacked. This was confirmed by the Iranian news agency Noor News.
However, the Syrian news agency Sana News reported after the attack that the Israeli missile had been intercepted. However, one of the missiles managed to hit the consulate annex building.
Israel carried out another major attack on Syria last week. 53 people were killed in that attack. Of which 38 Syrian soldiers and 7 Hezbollah fighters were.
It was the largest Israeli attack in Syria since the start of war between the Palestinian armed group Hamas and Israel last year.
