The Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has given an urgent message to the countrymen in the ongoing situation of the country based on the murder of the convener of Inkilab Manch, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi. Shafiqur Rahman.
In his verified Facebook post on Friday (December 19) night, he said that even though he is currently on a visit to the UK at the invitation of the British government, his mind and thoughts are with his beloved homeland Bangladesh. He also mentioned that he is constantly monitoring the overall situation of the country and maintaining regular communication with leaders at various levels.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, his heart is heavy on the martyrdom of Sharif Osman Hadi. He prayed for the forgiveness of Hadi's soul and said, βHe had a dream of a domineering, independent and justice-based Bangladesh and he was martyred in the struggle to achieve that goal.β He referred to Hadi as a leader who believes in fighting for justice in the way of logic and ideals.
Jamaat Amir also said that the blood of martyr Hadi will never go in vain. The united and peaceful movement will continue to establish his dream 'Bangladesh of Justice', Insha'Allah.
In the message, he demanded the quick arrest of all the criminals involved in Hadi's murder and exemplary punishment. At the same time, he appealed to the countrymen and said that justice should be achieved through patience, restraint and systematic movement. He urged everyone to be vigilant so that no conspirators or evil forces can corrupt the movement through violence and sabotage.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also said that when the country is united in demanding justice for Hadi's murder, some unexpected and sad events have happened, which is very worrying. He also warned that there may be an attempt to divert the people from the main goal of the movement through these incidents.
He finally appealed to all to be peaceful, united and aware and urged to avoid any kind of provocation in the interest of the country.
1. I strongly condemn the attack and propaganda on Prothom Alo, Daily Star and senior editor Nurul Kabir. Independent media is a prerequisite for the stability of the state. We must all ensure the freedom and protection of the media. We do not want to return to the culture of naked attacks on the media during the Fascist era. At the same time, I appeal to the media, play a responsible role in this critical moment of the country and refrain from any kind of hate propaganda.
2. Vandalism and arson in some cultural centers including the High Commission office is not acceptable in any way.
3. Insulting religion is extremely wrong and wrongful act. If someone commits this injustice, his trial must be ensured through the court. But the lynching of a Hindu youth in Mymensingh for blasphemy by taking the law into his hands is completely unacceptable. Taking justice into one's own hands is not the teaching of Islam.
All mainstream Islamist parties and organizations in this country believe in due process and are not in favor of taking the law into their own hands under any circumstances. We believe that some party will do this to sabotage the plan. The fact that no precautionary measures were taken before the incident and law enforcement agencies did not come forward long after the incident started β the crony cronies in the administration may have been part of this sabotage plan. Citizens should be more careful, so that no one gets a chance to sabotage.
I urge the government to stand by those who have suffered and immediately identify the real culprits and bring them to book. It is the need of the hour to ensure a safe Bangladesh by making all the concerned organizations quickly active and accountable.
There is a deep conspiracy going on to destabilize the country. Hegemony rides upon us with the opportunity of division. If we cannot unite today, it will not be possible to build the Bangladesh of Osman Hadi's dream. Let's forget the differences and build national unity. I call upon all concerned to work together to protect the country.
May the blood of martyr Hadi unite us. May Allah help us. May he protect our beloved motherland. Allah is Hafez. Long live Bangladesh. Let's build Bangladesh together.
