Ja’Marr Chase’s status for Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is now in question.
In a report from NBC 5 Cincinnati sports anchor Charlie Clifford, Ja’Marr Chase is once again not in uniform for the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice today.
CINCINNATI, OHIO – DECEMBER 16: Ja’Marr Chase #1 of the Cincinnati Bengals and Justin Jefferson #18 of the Minnesota Vikings meet after the Bengals beat the Vikings 27-24 in overtime at Paycor Stadium on December 16, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This news comes after Chase had sat out training camp and multiple practices last week in search of a contract extension similar to the ones received by Ceedee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, and Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers.
In three seasons with the Bengals, Chase was named Rookie of the Year in 2021 and was named to three Pro Bowls. He is an integral part of Cincinnati’s offense, so it’s more than likely a deal will get done.
