President Joe Biden has responded to Donald Trump’s claims that senior Democrats pushed him out from standing for reelection in a “coup.”

At Monday night’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago, a CNN reporter asked Biden for his reaction to “Trump saying it was a coup to get you out of the race?”

The president said: “I think he has a problem.”

Biden announced he would not seek reelection and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on July 21 after facing growing pressure from Democrats in the wake of his debate performance against Trump.

Trump has made several posts on Truth Social describing the process as a “coup.”

“The Democrats staged the first ever ‘Coup’ in America,” Trump wrote on Monday.

“Crooked Joe Biden was told, ‘Sorry Joe, you’re losing to Trump, BIG, and you can’t beat him – You’re Fired.’ So now, for the first time in American history, I’ll have to beat TWO Candidates, the second being a Radical Left Marxist, Comrade Kamala Harris.”

This is a breaking new story and will be updated.
