Kubi students have returned to class campus

The chief adviser of the interim government. Under the guidance of Muhammad Yunus, every educational institution in the country has started normal education from Sunday (August 18). Following this, Comilla University (Kubi) was opened on Monday (19 August) after being closed for more than a month.

Earlier, after the 98th emergency syndicate meeting on July 17, the university was closed indefinitely. However, even though the 99th syndicate meeting decided to start online classes from August 9, the students rejected it.

The green campus of Lalmati has started returning to its familiar form as classes have started after a long closure. Due to this closure, the locks hanging in the classrooms are now open and are no longer there. Academic activities have started in full swing leaving the post of Vice-Chancellor vacant. Empty classrooms are now buzzing with students walking in. Students returned to classes in festive spirit. Teachers are busy teaching. Mid-term, assignment, presentation, semester examinations in all the departments which were suspended, have resumed.

The important places of the university have been visited, there is an atmosphere of excitement and joy all around. Images of daily class chats or fall afternoons on campus have begun to return. Shaheed Minar, Mukta Manch, Central Playground, Kanthaltala, Cafeteria roof, Lalan Chatwar, balconies and roof courtyards of various departments are gathering with stories, chats and songs every day. The environment of these desolate places has become lively. Students are waiting for the red-blue bus after class.

Tawhida Jannat, a student of the Bangla department, said, “We got a new Bangladesh through the student revolution, after being able to return to academic activities.” Our academic activities have been disrupted at various times, including the Vice-Chancellor-Teacher conflict. I hope respected teachers will pay it. It's great to be back in class after a long time. A healthy learning environment has been developed in the campus. There will be stories, songs and chats with friends again.

Archeology department student BM Sumon said, the uprising of hundreds of students including Shaheed Abu Saeed, Abdul Qayyum has brought us to the goal of building a discrimination-free Bangladesh. Comilla University is no exception. It is necessary to continue the continuation of the appropriate environment for knowledge, talent, creative and cultural practice by freeing the student politics from the campus and politics from all levels of the university. The university administration should pay close attention so that the teachers cannot create discrimination by tampering the marks.

The registrar of the university with academic activities. Mujibur Rahman said that classes have started in full swing in the university. A lot of time has passed from the academic activities of the students at various times. We are aware of this. We will hold a meeting and plan how to compensate.
