Kushtia police station I broke with Majed leadership: Youth Dal leader's video goes viral

Abdul Majed, the chief coordinator of Kushtia District Youth Dal, has been in the face of fierce controversy by saying that 'I have destroyed Kushtia Police Station with Majed's leadership'. A four-minute video of his speech has gone viral on social media.

It has been learned that last Wednesday (September 4) in the afternoon of Kushtia Sadar Upazila Khajanagar Islamia Dakhil Madrasa premises, a rally was held with rice paddy owners and local residents to prevent extortion. Abdul Majed gave that speech in the rally.

Abdul Majed can be heard saying in the viral video, β€œIn return for the sacrifice of the martyrs, the government of Sheikh Hasina has been forced to flee today. On the last day in Kushtia (August 5) when the power was handed over, first of all, those who are protesting here asked, I have broken Kushtia police station with Majed leadership. There is no such day, my three sons, my family, your aunt, she herself has joined this movement. You could not stop your children from killing. When the blood is drawn, the flow of people cannot be stopped. So Hasina has gone to the flow of the people.'

Youth Dal leader Abdul Majed also said, 'I will tell you, you should not do anything so that we are not suffocated in Kushtia. Power is not permanent. BNP cannot form government unless people vote. But let us not lose our breath. Like Ata-Hanif, like the murderer Hasina, don't have to run away.'

To inquire about the speech, the chief coordinator of the district youth party, Abdul Majed, made multiple calls to his mobile number, but it was disconnected. However, a district BNP leader who participated in the rally on condition of anonymity, Abdul Majeder, confirmed such a speech.

When asked, District BNP General Secretary Bir Muktijoddha Principal Sohrab Uddin said, 'If he (Majeed) has given such a statement, then he did not decide. The matter will be reported to the Centre. Action will be taken accordingly if the center directs.'

Meanwhile, 8 to 10,000 unidentified people were accused of assault, vandalism, looting and arson at Kushtia police station. However, even after a month of the incident, the police have not yet arrested anyone in the case. Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuzul Haque Chowdhury said the police are working to identify the accused.

Incidentally, after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, thousands of people attacked Kushtia Model Police Station. During this time extensive vandalism, looting of weapons and arson took place. In this incident, SM Abdul Alim, Inspector (Operation) of Kushtia Model Police Station filed a case as the plaintiff on August 9.
