Letter from the Chief Adviser to the President of the United Arab Emirates, expressing gratitude

The anti-discrimination student movement and the movement to bring down the Sheikh Hasina government also touched the Middle East. Bangladeshi immigrants living in the United Arab Emirates protested in violation of the country's laws by declaring solidarity with the student crowd.

The President of the country Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan pardoned 57 Bangladeshis convicted in the Federal Court of the United Arab Emirates. Chief Adviser to the Interim Government Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed his gratitude to the President of the country for forgiving the Bangladeshis. He expressed his gratitude through a letter to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This information was informed in a letter sent by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser on Tuesday (September 3) afternoon.

Dr. in the letter. Muhammad Yunus said that 57 Bangladeshis protesting in several cities of the United Arab Emirates in solidarity with the recent student revolution. I enjoy the opportunity to express my deep gratitude for your generous decision to pardon them. This act of forgiveness after our telephone conversation not only exemplifies compassionate leadership but also serves as a vehicle to strengthen the enduring bond of brotherhood between our two countries.

He further said that your generous decision to cancel the sentence especially the families of those involved and the citizens of our country UAE, the greater country of Bangladesh, are relieved. We are truly, deeply touched by your compassion. We fully respect the laws of UAE. We promise to brief and educate our citizens about the local laws and culture of their host countries before their departure from Bangladesh.

In the letter, the Chief Adviser said, I sincerely thank you for your kind decision. Which will further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between our nations. We look forward to strengthening our bilateral relations and working together for the mutual benefit of our peoples. I wish you good health, happiness, long life and continued peace, progress and prosperity for the brotherly people of UAE.
