Letter from the Ministry of Education to increase the age limit of application for government jobs

The Ministry of Education has sent a letter to the Ministry of Public Administration to raise the age limit for applying for government jobs from 30 to 35 years.

Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education Abul Khair confirmed this information to the media on Monday night.

He said, “Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel recently sent this letter.”

According to the letter, at present age limit of 30 years is followed as a criterion for entry into all types of jobs in government-semi-government, private and autonomous institutions.

Students have been protesting on the streets for a long time demanding that the age limit for job application be increased to 35 years according to international standards.

Realizing this, in the 2018 election manifesto, the Awami League mentioned in the section on increasing education, skills and employment that 'increasing the age limit for entry into government jobs, taking into account merit and skills, logical measures will be taken from the point of view of reality'.
