Loud music is prohibited in Chiksa villages, religious activities are not restricted

It has been decided not to play loud music in the Chiksa village. However, there is no ban on the use of sound systems in the waj-mahfil of the Muslim community and the religious activities of the orthodox.

Chiksa is a village in Tahirpur Sadar Union of Tahirpur Upazila of Sunamganj. On Sunday (August 18) night, the panchayat and local people of that village held a joint meeting and took these decisions.

Meanwhile, on Monday (August 19) various media including social media are promoting that 'music and playing' has been banned in Chiksa village of Sunamganj. The locals expressed their anger. They allege that the news that is being spread under the title of banning music is false.

Basically, the Chiksa village panchayat decided on Sunday night that no loud music can be played in any wedding or birthday event, i.e. using the sound system. Locals said that they never said that music is prohibited.

Locals said there is an elderly sick person in Chiksa village. Apart from this, children have many problems due to loud music. That is why this decision has been made. However, there is no restriction on the use of sound system in traditional religious worship and waj-mahfil of Muslims. Chiksa village is 85% Muslim and is the largest among all the villages in Sadar Union. People of Hindu community also live in the village.

In this regard, the local UP chairman. Junab Ali said, basically, they have prohibited the loud sound box from being played during wedding and birthday celebrations at Chiksa Village Panchayat. In various weddings, the sound box plays 4-5 days before. Due to this, common people suffer severely. People can't sleep. That is why the villagers have taken this decision.

He also said that there is no ban on playing the mic in other events such as waj-mahfil. In various pujas of Hindus, there is no ban on singing in their religious rules.
