Marriage of wife with friend, what was behind

There were already complaints of his wife's estrangement with a close friend. Ariful Islam found his wife and friend in a close relationship late on Wednesday (January 14). They were arrested and their hair was cut off by wearing necklaces around their necks. They were tied to a mango tree and poured cold water overnight. After that in the morning, Ariful Islam married his wife with a friend in the cabin for 5 lakh taka through Gramya Shalis.

These incidents took place on Wednesday (January 15) at around 2 o'clock in the night in Kundipur village of Darshana police station of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga.

Photos and videos of the torture have gone viral on social media. There is discussion and criticism going on in the area.

Darshana Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mehedi Hasan and Ariful Islam's father Ashadul Islam and local residents said that Ariful Islam's wife Asma Khatun (25) and Ahmed Ali's son Swapan (28) of the same village were involved in extravagance for a long time. Ariful Islam woke up at around 2 o'clock on Wednesday and saw that his wife was not there. When he suspected this, he saw his wife and close friend Swapan in a close relationship in the adjoining room and arrested them. Then the locals tied them to the mango tree in the backyard with ropes and put shoelaces around their necks. Arif shaved his friend Swapan's hair. After that they were tortured by pouring cold water on them throughout the night.

The OC of Darshana police station said that immediately after receiving the information, the police were sent and the victims were rescued and taken into police custody. No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Beating, cutting hair and insulting someone is completely illegal. If someone commits a crime, he will be tried by the court.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ubaidur Rahman Sahel said that there are laws and courts in the country if there is a punishable crime. It is a punishable offense to cut hair or beat someone with the intention of socially degrading them. Victims can take legal action in this case if they want.
