Metrorail stopped, passengers suffer

It is known that the metro rail movement was stopped at around 7 pm on this day. Mainly due to failure of Metrorail signaling system, train movement is stopped. This incident happened around 7 pm. Trains can be brought without signaling system, but it is very risky.

When asked how much time it may take, the sources said that there was a problem with the signaling system and the telecom system. The engineer is on the line right now. Will launch as soon as it is resolved.

At this time, it was also announced to refund the ticket money of the passengers. Soon after, it was announced that the Metrorail would no longer run due to mechanical problems.

Videos shared by passengers on social media showed announcements over hand mics at various stations that those in a hurry could get down and take alternative routes. And those who have collected the tickets, they can return the money to the counter.

When asked about this, the company secretary of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the company that operates the Metrorail, said that the line of the transformer that supplies electricity to our operation control center was off. No signal was being sent from there to our stations. Now efforts are being made to re-install it for the safety of passengers. As far as I know it will be fixed in a while. If the signal is not controlled then an accident can happen. So the metro rail has been closed for safety.
