Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, said that initiatives have been taken to declare Metrorail as an emergency service so that no one can disrupt this service.
He said this to the journalists in a briefing at the Metrorail Secretariat station on Sunday (August 25).
Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan said, so that there is no vandalism, we are trying to upgrade it as a KPI to increase its security.
In response to a question from reporters about the punishment of those who vandalized the Metrorail, he said that such an act is not possible for those who have agitated to change the country. It is the work of criminals. You have their video, footage, we will take appropriate action.
Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan said, after being appointed as an advisor, the chief advisor said, your first task will be to start the Metrorail. That's what we did. Here the board has to be restructured. There were board meetings, there were some demands, we saw them.
He said, earlier the initiative was taken to launch it (Metrorail) on 17th. But it was not possible to launch for some officials of Metrorail. You know it is a great injustice. It is not a good sign to try to collect any demand by holding three lakh passengers hostage.
Commenting that the season of claiming is going on in the country, the advisor said that now the season of claiming is going on all over the country. Everyone wants discrimination to be removed, everyone wants to be freed from deprivation. Deprivation of 16 years, the age of this government has been 16 days, give at least 16 months. We will consider all these slowly.
The advisor said, one thing must be remembered, there is a financial connection with making these demands. If the revenue of the government does not increase or if other income does not increase, then from where? If we can pay by printing money now, inflation will increase. Common people will suffer a lot. So it was an unintended incident and we want it not to happen in the future.
In response to a question about when the other lines of the Metrorail will be launched, he said, “We are working on the launch of other lines.” The Japanese ambassador will be visiting me this afternoon. There will be a discussion about how to start Kazipara and Mirpur-10 stations. I have asked the MD of Metrorail to determine what the damage has been and give a time line.
After a long 37 days, after the metro rail was launched on Sunday morning, the advisor of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan came to the Secretariat station by metro rail from Agargaon.
It is noted that during the quota reform movement, the authorities stopped the movement of metro rail at 5 pm on July 18. The next day, Mirpur-10 and Kazipara stations of Metrorail were vandalized. After that, there was a plan to reopen the Metrorail from August 17, but it was not possible due to the strike of the workers. Metrorail employees joined work on August 20 after being assured of meeting their demands.
Uttara to Motijheel metro rail is running from this morning.
