According to health advisor Noorjahan Begum, thousands of people have been killed and nearly four hundred people have lost their sight in the movement for quota reform and the fall of the government. He said that the government will take responsibility of the families of those who were killed during the agitation and those who were injured would be given free treatment.

This information was informed in a press release sent by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday (August 29). It is said that yesterday (Wednesday) the Health Advisor said these things after visiting the Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh.

Noorjahan Begum said that more than 1,000 people have been killed and more than 400 students have lost their sight in the anti-discrimination movement. Many have become blind in one eye, many have lost sight in both eyes. We have spoken with the organization called Service of America. We have sent the list of those who have become blind or have eye problems to Seva Foundation.

He said, Seva Foundation said as soon as possible they will bring doctors to the country for treatment. They will be treated at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute, National Eye Science Institute and Hospital and Chittagong Eye Hospital and Dinajpur.

The health advisor said, many people have injured their legs, many have had to have their legs amputated. We are talking to various donor agencies, we have also talked to the World Bank. So that a team of doctors can be brought from abroad for good treatment. We are trying to do that.

In response to questions from reporters, he further said, “We came here and saw that many injured policemen are undergoing treatment. Many were injured in the legs. Many suffered head injuries. They are undergoing treatment and from what I hear from them they are doing well. An injured student coordinator is admitted here, he is also undergoing treatment here.

During the visit, Health Advisor Noorjahan Begum spoke to the injured policemen undergoing treatment in the surgery department of the hospital and inquired about them.
