Movement demanding the resignation of the headmaster of three schools in Lalmonirhat

Past and present students and parents of Dakshin Jawarani Abdul Latif High School of Hatibandha Upazila of Lalmonirhat, Saralkha High School of Aditmari Upazila and Mogulhat High School of Sadar Upazila have protested for the resignation of the headmaster.

On Sunday (August 25) morning, a protest march surrounded the market adjacent to the school demanding the resignation of Jasim Uddin, the headmaster of Dakshin Jawarani Abdul Latif High School in Hatibandha Upazila of the district. Later, the protestors took position in front of the headmaster's office. Meanwhile, the protestors demanded the resignation of the headmaster Jasim Uddin pointing out various irregularities and corruption. The agitators said that the head teacher Jasim Uddin is the vice-president of Velaguri union of Bangladesh Awami League. He has been doing various irregularities including embezzlement of school money, recruitment and trade. Since the fall of the Awami League government, the headmaster has been absent from the school. Apart from this, the agitators submitted a memorandum to the upazila administration alleging various irregularities and corruption in the school.

Meanwhile, former and current students of Saralkha High School of Aditmari Upazila of the district have demanded his resignation against Rashidul Alam, the headmaster of the school, accusing him of misappropriation of funds, irregularities, corruption, and cheating in the recruitment business. Parents were seen joining the movement. Besides, students, teachers and staff of the locality demanded the resignation of Mofazzal Hossain, the headmaster of Moglhat High School of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila, accusing him of various irregularities including corruption.
