23 vent regulators of Muchapur Union in Companyganj of Noakhali were broken due to heavy rains and the intensity of upstream floods. In this, public fear has spread throughout the surrounding areas including Noakhali's Companyganj, Kabirhat and Feni's Sonagazi Daganbhuyan.
Noakhali District Commissioner Dewan Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter to the media on Monday (August 26) at 12:00 pm.
He said that the door and the middle part of the regulator were broken when the regulator was opened due to heavy water. Flood water recedes during low tide but water can now enter the locality during high tide. The army's engineering core team and others are working relentlessly on the matter. At this moment, he himself has left to visit the Muchapur regulator, he told the media.
