Murder case against 11 people including Sheikh Hasina


BDR Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) Bir Muktijoddha, accused in the case filed in 2009 in the case of rebellion at the headquarters of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) in Pilkhana. A murder case has been registered in connection with the death of Abdur Rahim in prison.

Sunday (August 25) Dhaka Metropolitan Hakim. Advocate Abdul Aziz, son of deceased Abdur Rahim, filed this case in the court of Akhtaruzzaman.

The case has been filed against 11 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former BGB Director General and former Army Chief Brigadier General Aziz Ahmed and Pilkhana Mutiny case lawyer Mosharf Hossain Kajal.

The plaintiff's lawyer confirmed the case. Delwar Hossain.

He said, 'This case will be heard in the afternoon.'

The other defendants in the case are former Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Md. Ashraful Islam Khan, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Members of Parliament Sheikh Salim, Noor Alam Chowdhury Liton, Sheikh Helal, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Mirza Azam and Hasanul Haque Inu.

Apart from this, Jail Superintendent of Central Jail and Jail Doctors who were on duty in July 2010 have also been made accused. Another 200 unidentified people have been accused.

Plaintiff advocate Abdul Aziz mentioned in the case that Bangladesh Awami League along with 14 party chief Sheikh Hasina's fascist government on February 25 and 26, 2009, hired foreign agents in a well-planned manner at the then BDR headquarters Pilkhana and killed 74 people including 57 army officers. Later, a case of murder was filed at Chowkbazar police station on the charge of BDR rebellion.

The plaintiff alleged that his father Abdur Rahim, a brave freedom fighter, was working in Pilkhana as a DAD. He was also arrested as an accused in the BDR rebellion case.

He also alleged that some people tried to kill his father Abdur Rahim inside Pilkhana on 25 February. But the common soldiers loved his father so they saved him. One day in July 2009, DAD took Abdur Rahim to the second floor of Dhaka sector of Pilkhana and asked General Aziz and lawyer Mosharraf Hossain Kajal to be witness to the Pilkhana incident. He was lured in various ways and asked to testify falsely as a royal witness.

As the plaintiff's father did not agree, he was arrested and remanded in the BDR rebellion case. After the remand, he was sent to Dhaka Central Jail. Later, on July 29, 2010, the plaintiff's father was killed by pushing an injection into his body in Dhaka Central Jail.
