Murder case in the name of former Minister of Agriculture and State Minister of Commerce in Tangail

On Sunday (August 18) night, the case was filed at the Sadar police station by Mocha, the mother of the deceased Maruf. Morsheda. In the case, 200 unknown people have been named as accused including 56 people.

Tangail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lokman Hossain confirmed the case on Monday (August 19) afternoon.

He said that the accused will be arrested soon and brought under the law.

Among the other accused in the case are Tanveer Hasan Chhota Monir, former Member of Parliament of Tangail-2 Constituency, Chanwar Hossain, former Member of Parliament (MP) of Tangail-5 Constituency, Khan Ahmed Shubo, former MP of Tangail-7 Constituency, Anupam Shahjahan Joy, former MP of Tangail-8 Constituency, Tangail-4 Constituency Former MP Hasan Imam Khan Sohail Hazari, Tangail Municipality Mayor SM Sirajul Haque Alamgir, Tangail District Awami League General Secretary Joaherul Islam Joaher, Vice President Ashrafuzzaman Smriti, Organizing Secretary Jamilur Rahman Miran, Environmental Affairs Secretary Badiuzzaman Farooq, Office Secretary Md. Khorshed Alam, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Tofazzal Hossain Tofa, Sub-Department Secretary Anand Mohan Dey, Awami League Leader Saifuz Zaman Sohel, Abdur Rauf, Jubo League Leader Atiqur Rahman Morshed, Farooq Hossain Manik, UP Chairman Tofail Ahmed, Golam Kibria Bara Moni and others.

According to the case sources, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country after resigning on the afternoon of August 5 in the quota reform and anti-discrimination student movement. In the afternoon, Maruf Mia also took part in the victory procession in the presence of students. At one point in the evening, when the victory procession reached the Main Road area of ​​the city, the accused attacked the procession with rifles, pistols, short guns and indigenous weapons. At one point, when Maruf took shelter on the second floor of City Bank, the accused appeared there. One of the accused shot Maruf with a short gun. Janata Maruf, a student of the victory march, was rescued and taken to Tangail General Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
