My term ends next December, how many years Mirza Fakhrul Secretary General?

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader questioned the legitimacy of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as the party's general secretary according to the constitution of BNP. He said, Mirza Fakhrul has legal rights? He violated his constitution.

He said this at a press conference at the Awami League president's political office in Dhanmondi on Friday (May 31).

'Awami League has created numerous Benazir Ahmed and Aziz Ahmed across the country, BNP has said to form its own investigation committee to find them', Obaidul Quader said when reporters asked about this, 'Have you read the constitution of BNP? How many years can Mirza Fakhrul live? My term ends next December this December. We will have a conference in due time.'

He said, 'Mirza Fakhrul has been in violation of the constitution for how many years as the Secretary General? They are not the democratic party, they themselves do not practice democracy at home, how to establish democracy in the country? Does Mirza Fakhrul have legal rights? He violated his constitution. Ask first how many years the Secretary General has been without a conference.'

When asked whether BNP can list the corrupt people or not, the Awami League general secretary said, 'If the list is made, the names of BNP leaders should be written first. Because they are the capital of corruption and looting. The names of BNP leaders will come first. Then another list will appear.'

When asked about the arrest of Benazir Ahmed, he said, 'There is a process. ACC is investigating the process. If the ACC files a case, then the court will decide whether to arrest, when to do, send to jail. Will go through the judicial process. What will we order the government?'

Many media reports that Benji's family has left the country, Obaidul Quader said in response to the question whether he should have been arrested earlier, “I don't know, it is not clear yet.”

It is heard that Benji has already withdrawn his money from 32 banks, Obaidul Quader said, 'Since I am not informed about these matters, it is a matter of law. ACC says they have detected, let ACC prove it.'
