Nahid ordered to provide affordable services in educational institutions

Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Adviser has ordered Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd. Nahid Islam.

On Thursday (September 5), he gave the instructions in an exchange meeting with officials at BTCL's central office in Dhaka.

The advisor said, time will be used for reforms, this is what the countrymen are expecting and we want to make reforms in all areas that will benefit Bangladesh in the long run. The government has initiatives but the reason why it is not reaching the people needs to be found. We have to ensure corruption free services to the public within the limits we may have.

He also said that the alleged irregularities and corruption in the appointment of contractors in BTCL projects should be stopped and the cases should be settled. There are government audit objections against BTCL officials. In this case, it is necessary to settle the audit objection by collecting the money from the responsible parties.

Nahid Islam said, 'Alap', a highly profitable application of BTCL like WhatsApp, was launched. BTCL would have benefited greatly from this, but it didn't. BTCL provides very popular broadband internet connection called Zipon. Alap and Zipon need to be popularized through massive campaigns.
