National Memorial ready to celebrate Independence


Savar National Memorial is all set to pay homage to the nation's greatest sons on the great Independence Day. Already, the walkways, altars and structures of the entire square including the monument minar have been decorated with colors. Colorful spring flowers are adorning the gardens.

On Tuesday (March 26), the entire country will pay tribute to the brave sons of the nation on the 54th Independence Day. A wonderful parade will be organized on the day; Members of three forces will serve. At the last minute, they are rehearsing the parade.

Security has been beefed up in the monument area to pay homage to the King of Bhutan along with the President and Prime Minister. The public works department has been beautifying the monument premises for more than a month. After washing the brick path, martyr altar and mass graves, the whole monument area has been decorated in white color. The public works workers have also completed the work of beautifying the courtyard with trees and green grass.

Visitor access to the National Memorial has been reserved since the beginning of Independence Month for cleanliness and beautification. Besides, the security of the monument area has been strengthened on the occasion of the arrival of the President, Prime Minister and King of Bhutan.

Deputy Assistant Engineer of Public Works Department Mizanur Rahman said that the memorial is fully prepared for the arrival of the President, Prime Minister and King of Bhutan.

On the occasion of this great Independence Day, maximum security has been strengthened by the Dhaka District Police.

He also said that a large team of us will work with intelligence surveillance in plain clothes, additional police deployment on roads and highways. Our control room has been set up in the memorial area. In all, about three and a half thousand policemen will do security work on the occasion of this great Independence Day. Apart from this, the situation of the entire area will be monitored by drones this year.

Regarding the general situation of the memorial area, the Member of Parliament for Dhaka-19 Constituency Muhammad Saiful Islam said that the memorial is fully prepared on the occasion of Independence Day. Meetings were held on the law and order situation; The law and order situation is under complete control. Hope the great Independence Day will be celebrated very peacefully this time.

He also said, on the occasion of Independence Day, we have illuminated the multi-storied buildings and government buildings along Savarsa road. Banners are festooned along the road to welcome national leaders.

The Public Works Department has closed public access to the National Memorial since March 12 on the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations.
