New instructions issued to strengthen police discipline

The police headquarters has given strict instructions in this regard, citing it as 'indiscipline' for any unit head to leave his workplace without the prior permission of the police headquarters. This instruction was given in a letter issued recently by the Personnel Management-1 Branch of the Headquarters.

The letter signed by Additional DIG Khandkar Shamima Yachmin of Police Headquarters said that recently it has been observed that some unit heads are leaving the workplace without prior permission of Police Headquarters. Citing the matter against discipline, unit heads must take prior permission of the IGP before leaving work for leave or any other need.

The letter has been sent to DMP commissioner, RAB director general, all unit heads of police including SB chief, all range DIGs, all commissioners of metropolitan police and superintendents of police of all districts of the country.

According to police headquarters sources, it is important to ensure the responsible behavior of the unit heads to maintain the order and continuity of operations of the force. If anyone leaves the workplace disobeying the instructions, it will be treated as indiscipline and necessary action will be taken in future.

The police headquarters hopes that by implementing this decision, administrative discipline will be strengthened.

Meanwhile, election campaigning has officially started from Thursday (January 22) ahead of the Thirteenth National Parliament Election. At this time, keeping the overall law and order situation normal is seen as a big challenge. That is why all police unit heads have been specifically instructed not to leave their workplaces until the elections are over, said sources.
