But his dream of serving as chairman was dashed when he was removed hours after taking oath.

It is to be noted that Mokarram Hossain Sujan was elected chairman privately by getting 29 thousand 41 votes in the third phase election. He was expelled by BNP for participating in the election against the party's decision.
