Order to remove internet and dis cable within 24 hours

The Metrorail Authority has written to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) for removal of Internet and DIS in 51 buildings on MRT Line 6 within 24 hours.

These cables are crossed over the viaduct and overhead catenary system of the Metrorail route alignment. On Thursday (March 28), a letter was sent to the President and Secretary of the Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh to take action in this regard.

Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-6) Project Director Md. In the letter signed by Aftabuddin Talukder, it is said that cable TV line (dis line), internet cable line etc. have been provided to various buildings over the viaduct and overhead catenary system of alignment of MRT line 6 operated under DMTCL.

As per the preliminary survey, around 51 buildings are currently provided with such connections. It has the potential of snapping the cable at any moment and falling on the high-capacity metro rail viaduct and overhead catenary system causing a fatal accident. The danger of such accidents is more during the ongoing monsoon season.

In the letter, it is specifically requested to take necessary steps to remove cable TV lines (dis lines), internet cables etc. from various buildings passing over the viaduct and overhead catenary system within the next 24 hours. Otherwise, DMTCL will take legal action.

President of Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh. B. M. Saiful Hossain and editor Md. This letter has been sent to Imdadul Haque.

Earlier, a kite fell on an electric wire in Kazipara and metro rail movement was stopped. Metro rail services were stopped for more than two and a half hours. As a result, the passengers suffer.

DMTCL Manager (Civil and P-Way) Mahfuzur Rahman said, despite our repeated prohibitions, kites and lanterns are flown in the area adjacent to the Metrorail. As a result, Metrorail operations are being disrupted. This is very sad. Metrorail is our national asset. We should all be careful about it.
