Ordering 14 officials of A2I to refrain from performing duties, formation of investigation committee


14 officials of the 'Aspire to Innovate' or A2I program of the government's information and communication technology department have been asked to refrain from performing their duties as post-investigation proceedings are ongoing due to various allegations against them after the fall of the government.

The matter was informed in a notification of the Department of Information and Communication Technology on Tuesday (August 20). Those officers are – A2I Policy Advisor Anir Chowdhury, E-Government Analyst Md. Farhad Zahid Sheikh, Project Management Specialist. Majedul Islam, HD Media Project Analyst Purvi Matin, Technology Analyst Md. Hafizur Rahman, Capacity Development Specialist Manik Mahmud, Resource Mobilization Specialist. Nasser Mia, DFS Specialist. Tahurul Hasan, Solution Architecture Specialist Rezwanul Haque Jami, SPS Senior Consultant HM Asad-Uzzaman, E-Document Implementation Expert ATM Al Fattah, Senior Software Engineer Tanveer Quader Imon, Admin Consultant Md. Omar Farooq and Procurement Senior Consultant. Saladin.

Incidentally, after Awami League formed the government in 2009, the Access to Information (A2I) program was started to implement Digital Bangladesh under the Prime Minister's Office with funding from the United Nations Development Programme-UNDP. Later, under the direction of the Prime Minister in 2018, the A2I program was vested under the Department of Information and Communication Technology. Access to Information (A2I) was renamed Aspire to Innovate (A2I) in 2020. Currently it is being implemented under the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Cabinet Department and UNDP.
