Sharif Osman Hadi, a possible independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 seat in the 13th National Assembly elections and the spokesperson of the Inkilab Manch, was shot and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The president and secretary of Jatiyatavadi Chhatra Dal strongly condemned the incident.

Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasr Uddin Nasir condemned this in a post on social media Facebook at around 3 pm on Friday (December 12).

Rakibul Islam Rakib wrote in the post, Osman Hadi was shot. Taken to the emergency in DMK. May God help you. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal condemns and strongly condemns this barbaric and cowardly attack.

Nasir Uddin Nasir wrote in his post, the assassination attempt on Osman Hadi, an independent candidate, on the day after the announcement of the details, is a conspiracy to derail the upcoming national elections. The terrorists who shot at Osman Hadi must be arrested immediately. The interim government and the Election Commission should immediately ensure the overall security of the candidates and voters. I wish Osman Hadi a speedy recovery. He had an active participation in the July uprising. Everyone pray for him, Ameen.

Earlier, Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp in charge. Farooq said that Hadi was brought to the hospital shortly after 2:30 pm on Friday. He was shot below the left ear. He is in critical condition.
