A dog owner’s hack to enjoy a meal without a begging face watching every move didn’t go as expected.
In an April 9 Instagram video by user @stuff.bosco.eats, a dog owner sat in the car after picking up food. Knowing very well that Bosco the golden retriever always begs for human food, the owner decided it would be best to finish the meal in the car. But somehow Bosco knew he was being betrayed.
Bosco sat next to the window for a front-row view of the driveway, keeping tabs on any car that would pull up. His suspicion quickly arose when he noticed his owner returned. However, the owner did not step out of the car, hoping for “one meal in peace” away from doggy glares or Bosco pawing for a nibble with hope.
The owner’s plan of eating in peace was almost successful. The thought was there, but Bosco’s alertness allowed him to see it all unfold. He stared from the window in disgust as the owner scarfed down a cheeseburger without him.
The clip zoomed in to show Bosco’s face. He was more disappointed than angry. The owner left him at home AND ate without him, likely making Bosco feel like he wasn’t loved anymore. Dogs know how to make their owners feel horrible over the littlest inconveniences.
Luckily, the owner reaffirmed in the comment section that Bosco did not starve and that he was not ignored. Bosco’s begging eyes still won the owner over and he got exactly what he wanted.
“Bosco did get the last few big bites – can’t resist that face,” the comment reads.
Newsweek reached out to @stuff.bosco.eats via Instagram for additional information.
The hilarious Instagram clip amassed over 2.6 million views, 95,400 likes and 767 comments as of Wednesday.
“He smells it through the windows,” commented a viewer.
A person suggested: “You gotta park farther down the street.” That way Bosco will never know of the owner’s wrongdoing.
“My dog would be going insane if he saw me in the driveway eating lol,” said another.
One TikToker wrote: “He is judging your choices and you will definitely get the ‘look’ when you go back inside. He is thinking about eating one of your shoes to prove a point.” Pet parents know all too well that certain “look.”
