RAB special security nationwide on the occasion of Christmas

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special security measures after reviewing all kinds of 'risks' around Christmas (Wednesday, December 25), the biggest religious festival of Christians. The security system of the entire country including Dhaka is being monitored and coordinated through the control room at the RAB headquarters. The RAB headquarters said that the commando team of the RAB Special Force has been kept ready all the time to deal with any emerging situation.

To ensure security, increased RAB intelligence surveillance across the country, deployment of RAB dog squads and bomb disposal units in churches, battalions are coordinating with local church authorities, public representatives and other law enforcement agencies in their jurisdictions through their respective control rooms.

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous said Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony. Regardless of caste, religion, caste, everyone in the country celebrates their festivals with festivity and peace. Dog squads, sweeping deployment in churches

RAB Dog Squad and Bomb Disposal Unit are constantly participating in necessary sweeping operations at important churches, places of worship and important events. The commando team of RAB Special Force has been kept ready all the time to deal with any emerging situation.

Coordination from control room to local level-

The battalions are coordinating with local church authorities, public representatives and other law enforcement agencies in their jurisdictions through their respective control rooms. The security system of the entire country including Dhaka is being monitored and coordinated through the control room at the RAB headquarters.

Checkposts have been set up at important points including churches and churches at all metropolitan cities, district cities and upazila levels, sufficient number of patrols have been deployed and plainclothes intelligence surveillance has been increased to deal with any emerging situation. RAB Cyber ​​Monitoring Team is continuously monitoring online to prevent any kind of rumours, false information spreading in the virtual world. Those who try to destroy communal harmony by spreading false information and rumors in the cyber world will be identified and brought to justice.

CCTV Monitoring-

Important churches, places of worship and events are being monitored through CCTV cameras by the Christmas Celebration Committee to prevent vandalism. Besides, the search of the suspected persons will be done by the volunteers appointed by the Christmas celebration committee and the RAB members on duty. Legal action will be taken immediately against any miscreant causing disturbance in the church and event area.

Church, mobile court in front of church-

Necessary measures including mobile courts have been taken to prevent molestation, eve-teasing, sexual harassment of women coming to important churches, places of worship and events. The RAB members on duty at the churches are requested to be assisted by the volunteer team of the church authorities at all times to protect the security of the churches.

Besides, RAB is calling on the church authorities to properly monitor the CCTVs installed by the church authorities to monitor the security activities in the important churches.

RAB has taken preventive measures including increasing strict intelligence surveillance so that conspiratorial groups cannot take steps against the public interest on the occasion of Christmas.

Increased security in diplomatic missions-

Officials of foreign diplomatic missions and VIPs visit the venue during Christmas celebrations. In addition, necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of the event venue and risk assessment by gathering intelligence on the security of important persons of the Christian community and clergy.

Christmas Celebration Committees to prevent indecent activities, eve-teasing and molestation of women under cover of events organized on the occasion of Christmas, especially in Banani, Gulshan, Uttara, Purbachal, 300ft, Hatirjheel and Dhaka University in elite hotels and clubs across the country and at Cox's Bazar and Kuakata Beach Other Acts – Necessary security measures in coordination with law enforcement agencies has been accepted.

Security strengthened at state offices including KPI-

RAB's intelligence surveillance as well as patrol activities have been strengthened to ensure the security of important buildings and KPIs including Banga Bhavan, Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna, Bangladesh Secretariat, Chief Adviser's Office and Gana Bhavan.

Mobile phone numbers to contact RAB should be disseminated to Christian community dignitaries, priests, Christmas celebration committees and other informants so that any important information can reach the RAB team immediately.

Firecrackers, firecrackers and lanterns powered by fire cannot be flown on the occasion of Christmas celebrations. Necessary measures have been taken to stop the bursting of firecrackers or crackers or the blowing of lanterns.
