Rain likely for 4 days from Tuesday – Bangladesh Diplomat


The spread of the cold wave has reduced in the country with the rise in temperature. Today, the lowest temperature of the country was recorded at 5.7 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur. On Sunday, the lowest temperature of this season in the country was 5 degrees Celsius in Panchgarh's Tentulia. Magh rains are starting again from Tuesday (January 30). The Meteorological Department has said that there may be rain for the next 4 to 5 days.

The organization has given such information in the 72-hour weather forecast given on Monday (January 29).

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather of the whole country may remain dry with partly cloudy sky from 9 am. Moderate to heavy fog may occur in the river basins of the country from midnight to morning and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere in the country. Inland waterways may be temporarily disrupted due to heavy fog. Mild to moderate cold current is moving over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions including Moulvibazar, Comilla, Feni, Jessore, Chuadanga, Barisal and Bhola districts and may subside at some places. Night temperatures may increase slightly and day temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country.

On Tuesday (January 30) from 9 am, there may be rain or drizzle in one or two places of Khulna division including Faridpur region. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country. Moderate to heavy fog is expected over the country from midnight to morning. Dense fog may disrupt inland waterways. Over the country, night temperatures may increase by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius and day temperatures may remain almost unchanged.

From 9 am on Wednesday (January 31), some places in Khulna, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and one or two places in Rajshahi, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience rain. Apart from this, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country. Moderate to heavy fog may fall over the country from midnight to morning. Dense fog may disrupt inland waterways. Night temperatures may increase slightly and day temperatures may decrease slightly across the country.

The extended five-day weather forecast has said rains may continue early in the period.

Regarding the synoptic conditions, the extension of the subcontinental high pressure belt is located over West Bengal and adjoining northwest Bangladesh. Seasonal normal low pressure is located over South Bay of Bengal, with its extension extending to North Bay of Bengal.
