Rice, potato-onion are being sold at the previous prices and the prices of some vegetables including green chillies and cucumbers have decreased but the prices of several vegetables including brinjal have increased. However, on the contrary, traders fear further increase due to the impact of floods.

In this regard, Lal Mia, a potato seller of Karwan Bazar, said, “My potatoes have come from Munshiganj.” Last week I was selling at 52 taka per kg, today it is selling at 50 taka.

Meanwhile, Pabna onion is being sold at Tk 112 per kg, Faridpur onion at Tk 104 per kg. And retail is selling at 115 to 120 taka. Buyers have to buy garlic for 200 to 220 taka per kg. Ginger from China and Vietnam costs 250 to 260 taka, but you have to pay 450 taka to buy local ginger. However, compared to last week, the price of brinjal has increased by about Tk 30 per kg; It is being sold at 80 to 100 taka depending on the quality.

Claiming that the price has not been affected much due to flood, Alal Chan, a vegetable seller, said that the price of brinjal is now a little higher. The prices of other products are also on the rise. Due to the rain, goods could not be lifted properly in many places. Most of the goods in the market come from North Bengal. And the goods that come from Sylhet region, Comilla-Feni region, maybe the prices are increasing. But very few goods come from this site. However, the shop owner association has given instructions to make a profit of 2-3 rupees for the time being It is said to keep an eye on that so that no one makes too much profit. Because in this state of the country, people should stand by people.

Another businessman said that cockle, chichinga and shrimp are being sold in the market at the rate of Tk 60 per kg. Besides, carrots are being sold at Tk 140 per kg. Raw papaya, papaya and papaya are being sold at Tk 40 per kg. Besides, tomatoes are being sold at Tk 130 to Tk 150 per kg, cabbage at Tk 80 and gourd at Tk 60 each. And the price of local cucumber has decreased by 50 rupees per kg. Last week it was sold at Tk 100 per kg but on Friday it is being sold at Tk 50. And hybrid cucumber is being sold at the rate of Tk 40 per kg. Apart from this, gourds and dhundal are being sold at the rate of Tk 50 per kg, reduced to Tk 10 per kg within a week. Pumpkin is also being sold at the same price. However, the price of green chillies has decreased by 60 taka per kg, now it is 240 taka per kg.

Meanwhile, broiler and golden chicken prices remained unchanged in the last seven days. Broiler chicken is being sold at Tk 170 per kg and golden chicken at Tk 240 to Tk 250. Besides, the price of farm chicken brown eggs is kept at 150 to 155 taka. Beef is being sold at Tk 750 per kg, while goat meat is being sold at Tk 1100 per kg.

However, Naeem Hossain, seller of Chatkhil Rice Agency, a rice wholesale shop in Karwan Bazar, said that the retail price of miniket rice is Tk 71 to Tk 75 per kg, BR-28 at Tk 60, Nazirshail at Tk 80 to Tk 90, Paijam at Tk 60, hybrid coarse rice, fine Swarna. It is being sold at the rate of 53 to 56 taka per kg. Everything has the same price as last week. He also claimed that the price has not decreased again or increased again.
