Removal of 988 Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad

The local government department has removed 988 vice chairmen of upazila parishads across the country. Among them 494 vice chairmen (male) and 494 female vice chairmen.

A notification in this regard has been issued by the local government department on Monday (August 19).

It has been said that these vice chairmen and all female vice chairmen were removed from their respective posts of Upazila Parishad by applying section 13D of the Upazila Parishad (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024.

Earlier, separate notifications were issued removing 493 upazila chairmen. A notification in this regard was issued by the local government department. Apart from this, the post of Chairman of Koira Upazila Parishad has been declared vacant due to death.
