During the anti-discrimination student movement, students were forced to leave the halls, and officials were forced to resign on campus for protesting against students and for Sheikh Hasina's government.

Today, Tuesday (August 20) afternoon, students started protesting in front of the administrative building of the university. Later, occupying the VC's room on the 2nd floor of the university's administrative building, started a movement demanding the resignation of the VC and continued to press for his resignation. At that time, the vice chancellor was forced to resign under the pressure of the students. He resigned through a written application to the Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.

Before this, the pro-vice chancellor professor Dr. Syed Samchul Alam resigned. In his resignation letter, he resigned voluntarily citing personal reasons.

Besides, Bengali department teacher Zakia Sultana Mukta, assistant registrar Nazrul Islam Hira, biotechnology and genetic engineering department teacher Emdadul Haque Sohag, accounting and information system department teacher Solaiman Hossain Mintu, administrative officer Sheikh Tarek and security officer Tariqul Islam were relieved of their duties. .

Eamon Hoson said that during the anti-discrimination student movement, the spineless administration of the university forced the students to leave the hall with the police administration. After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, the students demanded 15 points on August 17. The last time for the 15-point settlement of the students was till 12 noon on Tuesday. Since there was no progress in the 15-point demands given by the students during this period, the students started protesting in front of the administrative building demanding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor of the university and the release of those teachers and officials at 3 o'clock today. Vice-Chancellor AQM Mahbub dismissed the teachers and officials and resigned himself in the face of the students.

Sadman Saqib, a fourth-year political science student, said on the resignation of the vice-chancellor and vice-chancellor, 'We don't want the administration of a political party based on leisure. We want impartial administration. Who will always support us. Will be with the students. We did not want an administration that would forget its responsibility for fear of losing its position. We demand a new neutral administration.'

When the anti-discrimination student movement started, many people including the vice-chancellor left the campus. After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, students are demanding the resignation of vice-chancellors in various universities of the country. Meanwhile, the vice-chancellors and senior administration officials of several universities including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Jahangirnagar have resigned.
