Reuters security adviser killed in missile attack in Ukraine

Ryan Evans (38), working as a security adviser for news agency Reuters, was killed in a missile attack on Ukraine's eastern front. Two more journalists were injured in the attack. The incident took place in the city of Kramatorsk on Saturday (August 24).

Ryan was a former British army officer. He was working in Ukraine since 2022. Six other Reuters representatives were with him during the attack. The condition of one of the two journalists under treatment in the hospital is very serious.

In a statement on Sunday, Reuters said, “We are urgently working with Kramatorsk authorities to gather detailed information about the attack.” We stand by our colleagues and their families.

The Ukrainian administration claims that Russia has fired missiles targeting journalists' residential hotels. However, Moscow did not open its mouth on this matter. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy expressed grief over the death of the journalist on the territory of the country.
