Sailors held hostage by pirates to be freed soon: Foreign Minister

Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmoud said a lot of progress has been made in a short period of time in rescuing both sailors and ships from Somali pirates. Hope to free them soon. But it is difficult to say the date of rescue. The Foreign Minister said these things while interacting with journalists at the YNT Center next to Dewanji Pond in Chittagong city on Wednesday (April 10) at 11:30 am.

Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmood said, “We want to assure the families of the sailors that the government is making every effort, first of all, negotiations are going on with the abductors through various parties. Secondly, a lot of psychological pressure is created on them. The sailors are doing well, keeping in regular contact with their families, even talking on video calls. So the concern that was there a few days ago is not there now. We hope to release them soon.

Through journalists, Dr. congratulated the countrymen on the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in advance. Hasan Mahmud said, you know that a dishonest circle and some hoarders are always active in our country before the arrival of Ramadan and during Ramadan. This time too, he was not interrupted. Newly added to that was the BNP's call for a boycott of Indian products. Their aim was to destabilize the market, causing the price of goods to rise. But due to various measures taken by the government, the market remained stable during this Ramadan and the prices of many products have come down.

He said, tomorrow the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country. Millions of people are going to their respective destinations. On this occasion, some people associated with transport are trying to collect extra fare. The government is monitoring the matter. Such an increase is unreasonable and not appropriate at all. The inspection team went to different places yesterday. People should also be aware while going home, in undue haste so as not to cause accidents. I pray to Almighty Allah, that the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country tomorrow.
