Setting up camp of Chinese troops entering 60 km inside India

The Chinese military has entered about 60 km into the Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh, which includes the seven sister states or Seven Sisters, a strategically important northeastern region of India. Not only this, the People's Liberation Army (PAL) of China has also entered Indian territory and camped in Kapapu area of Anjao district of Arunachal Pradesh.

It is known that neighboring China claims the ownership of a large part of Arunachal Pradesh bordering India. India has a total border of 3488 km with China. Of this, China's border with disputed Arunachal is only 1,126 km.

Multiple sources told Indian media outlets Arunachal Twenty-Four and NewsFike that pictures of burning wood, Chinese names painted on rocks and Chinese food items in the Kapapu area indicated Chinese troops had infiltrated the area about a week ago. The year 2024 is written on the stone in English. The Chinese army is said to have used these tactics during intrusions to claim ownership of Indian territory.

An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) camp is located at Kapapu, near the Hadigra Pass on the McMahon Line that divides the two countries, according to Indian news agency NewsFi. And Chaglagam, the nearest administrative area of Anjao district, is about 90 km from the McMahon Line. Besides, the location of Glaitakaru pass in the hilly area is about 80 km away from Chaglagam.

Earlier, in August 2022, pictures widely circulated on social media showed PLA soldiers supervising their infrastructure construction activities near Hadigra Lake. There, the Chinese military can be seen conducting excavation work with three excavators. On August 11 of the same year, an LRP patrol team of the Chinese military observed the construction work in the area less than 30 km from Chaglagam. At that time, the Indian Army confirmed the existence of a camp of Chinese military personnel a little north of the under-construction facility in Hadigra Lake.

Earlier in 2021, the country's media NDTV analyzed satellite images and reported that the Chinese military is conducting the construction of a second cluster of at least 60 buildings inside Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh. In 2020, Chinese troops entered Indian territory in Arunachal's Dibang Valley district. At that time extreme tension was created between the soldiers of the two countries. The year before that, in 2019, the Chinese military built a wooden bridge over the Doimru Nala, about 40 km inside the Indian territory of Arunachal.
