Sheikh Hasina cannot avoid responsibility for Khaleda Zia's death: Rashed Khan

Rashed Khan, former General Secretary of Public Rights Council and BNP nominated candidate for Jhenaidah-4 constituency, said that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cannot avoid the responsibility of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's death.

He said this in front of the journalists present on Tuesday (December 30) evening after leaving Evercare Hospital in the capital.

Rashed Khan said, Begum Khaleda Zia fell ill and left us. He passed away. Sheikh Hasina cannot avoid the responsibility of this. Awami League is such a sinful party. They oppressed the people.

He also said that Awami League was illegally in power for 16 years and kept Begum Khaleda Zia in jail for a long time only because of her popularity and acceptance. There was mental and physical abuse.

The leader added, “We have seen a healthy leader go to jail, but when she was released after the student uprising on August 5, she had to return in a wheelchair.” We never expected this. We don't think we will ever get back the person we lost.

Rashed Khan said, the entire people of Bangladesh are sad today. We hoped that he would live among us till the time the murderer Sheikh Hasina is brought to justice. The murderer Sheikh Hasina is on the run in Delhi. You see, there are no people to cry for him in Bangladesh. But today Begum Khaleda Zia passed away, people of all Bangladesh are crying for her today. Today the entire Bangladesh is at a standstill. Today, every house in Bangladesh is mourning.

Seeking prayers for Khaleda Zia, Rashed said, she was a symbol of democratic movement. He taught us to fight against hegemony. The way she transformed from a housewife to a leader of international standards is rare in the world. We are proud to have such a leader.

It should be noted that Begum Khaleda Zia, known as an 'uncompromising leader' in politics, passed away at Evercare Hospital in the capital at 6 am on Tuesday (December 30). The death of the country's first woman prime minister and chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) after undergoing treatment for a long time has cast a shadow of deep mourning on the country's politics. Begum Khaleda Zia's death is not just the end of a political chapter, but the end of an era. She was a firm and uncompromising leader in the struggle to protect democracy, national sovereignty and people's rights. With the departure of this politician, the political arena has lost a strong and influential voice.
