Sick Cat Finds Forever Home After 3-Year-Old Girl Vows to Care for Her

A girl has melted the hearts of the internet after she decided to rescue a sick shelter cat.

Natalie was just three when she fell in love with Skye, an adorable gray shelter cat. The girls seemingly shared an instant bond, but the shelter warned the family that the kitten had an infection.

In a touching video, which has already amassed an incredible 14.5 million views, a mom documented how the kitty overcame the odds as her doting daughter nursed her back to health.

Bruna (brufava) shared on TikTok: “Love Can Heal. My daughter was 3 years old when she decided to adopt a kitten to take care of. When we went to the shelter, they asked if we were sure we wanted to adopt this one because the kitten had an infection. My daughter didn’t hesitate for a second and promptly said that she would take care of it.”

The video follows Skye and Natalie’s touching journey as the toddler helps her cat recover. The little girl is seen clutching the kitty adoringly in her arms at the shelter and gazing at her new pet through the cat carrier window before they transport her home.

There are several shots of the toddler cradling the kitty affectionately as if she were a newborn baby and one scene shows Natalie carefully giving Skye medicine.

Natalie even has a stroller for her best feline friend and they sleep soundly snuggled up together.

By the end of the montage both of the girls have grown, showing Natalie’s dedicated efforts to caring for her kitty worked.

Bruna added: “To this day, she loves taking care of our cats, feeding them, playing with them, and brushing them.

“She also says she wants to be a veterinarian in the future.”

The family have two other cats, Simba and Cindy, who Natalie dotes on too.

TikTokers were left teary eyed by the bond between the duo.

Riri said: “The bond between a girl and her first cat.”

Kaylie added: “The bond between a girl and her first cat is so so special. I got my first cat in 7th grade when I was 12ish she turns 9 this summer and although I don’t live there anymore she always runs to me when I go over to my parents house.”
