Sohail Taj's post on Facebook caught the attention of the Chief Adviser

Former Minister of State for Home Affairs Tanjim Ahmed Sohail Taj made a post on Facebook drawing the attention of the interim government's chief adviser, home adviser and army chief. In the post, he alleged that he was being secretly monitored by mysterious people. Along with that, Sohail Taj also published the picture of the suspect.

In a post on his verified account on Wednesday (August 28) midnight, Sohail Taj wrote,

Attention: Principal Adviser, Home Adviser and Army Chief

On my way home from work tonight I was subjected to a very frightening and mysterious incident. A motorcyclist followed me from the Parliament building into the cantonment and at one point flashed a red-blue light on his chest and asked me to stop. After I stopped I asked him who he was and why he asked me to stop.

In every reply he tells me that their people are coming and I have to wait for them. I again inquired his identity and asked him if he recognized me.

In response he told me I know you, you are Sohail Taj. Then he said on the mobile phone that he stopped me and asked me to come with the location.

I again asked for his identity and who was coming and why he stopped me. He spoke on the phone again without answering and then told me to leave, and he also turned his motorcycle around and left.'

He also wrote, 'I am absolutely confident from the way he talks and behaves that he is from an intelligence agency. It was our hope that people would not be harassed in this way, now it appears that everything is going on in the same way, Shih, Shih.'

B: Note: This incident needs to be investigated and the High Resolution Closed Circuit Camera (CCTV) footage of the Jahangir Gate entrance of the cantonment will reveal who this motorcyclist is – 10:50 PM to 11:00 AM – My vehicle enters between this time. And behind was this motorcycle rider.

Incidentally, Sohel Taj was elected Member of Parliament from Gazipur-4 (Kapasia) constituency in 2001 elections. Then in 2008 he was elected Member of Parliament from the same constituency. On January 6, 2009, Sohel Taj was appointed as the Home Minister in the Awami League-led cabinet. He resigned from the cabinet on May 31 of the same year. Then on April 23, 2012, Sohail Taj resigned from the post of Member of Parliament.
