The Board of Directors of Sonar Bangla Insurance Limited, listed in the insurance sector of the capital market, has released the unaudited financial report for the second quarter (April-June, 2024) and half-yearly (January-June, 2024) of the current financial year. According to published reports, the company's profit has decreased by 31 percent in the current half-yearly quarter.
On Tuesday (August 20), the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) informed this information.
The dividend decision was taken after reviewing and approving the last year's audited financial report at the trustee committee meeting of the fund held earlier on Monday (August 19).
The company posted an earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 0.17 in the second quarter of the current financial year. In the corresponding period of the previous financial year, the profit per share of the company was Rs.0.27. Accordingly, the profit per share of the company decreased by Tk 0.10 or 37 percent in the quarter under discussion.
Meanwhile, the company's earnings per share (EPS) for the six months or half-yearly quarter of the current financial year stood at Tk 0.75. The profit per share of the company was Rs 1.08 in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Accordingly, the company's EPS decreased by Tk 0.33 or 31 percent in the quarter under discussion.
As on June 30, 2024, the company's net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Tk 21.41.
