Students will decide when the elections will be held: Adviser Hasan Arif

AF Hasan Arif, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, said that the students will decide when the election will be held. He said, arrangements will be made to make the electoral system acceptable to the voters. The students will decide whether the caretaker government system will be brought back or when the next national elections will be held.

He said these things to the media after a meeting on dengue at the secretariat on Sunday (September 8).

AF Hasan Arif said that there are discussions about reforming the constitution and restoring confidence in the electoral system. However, it has not yet been decided in which process. In this case, the opinion of the students is important. Judgment should be taken from them.

He said that the ousted Awami League government has suppressed the people by holding the constitution hostage. Whether the constitution will be rewritten, repealed or amended will also depend on the opinion of the student population.

The adviser also said that the law and order situation is not normal yet. Because the previous government used law and order forces. In this case, the government is trying.

About one month of the government, the advisor said, reforms cannot be done in 15 days. It will take time.
