Superintendent of Police arrested in connection with burning bodies of students

Recently a shocking video went viral on social media. It can be seen that some policemen wearing helmets and vests are piling the frozen bodies of people in a van and covering them with sheets. Those policemen are covering more bodies on that pile with abandoned banners on the side of the road. Two people are throwing another person who was shot at him like a sack of rice. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows footage of the brutality.

Jamuna Television searched various fact-checking sites about that video. It is known that this barbaric incident happened on the road in front of the main gate of Ashulia police station near Dhaka.

On that day, 6 dead bodies of the protesting students were picked up in the van. Four of them have been identified till Saturday afternoon. They are Sajjad Hossain Sajal, Tanzil Ahmed Sujoy, Baijid and Sabru Humayun. Relatives have found their bodies. The other two have not been identified.

The then Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Dhaka District was on duty in this barbaric murder. Abdullahil Kafi. He was detained from Shahjalal International Airport on Monday (September 2) night. After the arrest, he was taken to the DB office.

It is learned that the 29th BCS officer was at the helm of the police attack on the student crowd during the protest from July 18 to August 5 in Kafi, Savar and Ashulia. In those attacks, 75 people were killed by the police, more than 450 people were treated in the hospital due to gunshot wounds.

According to DB sources, they got information about Abdullahil Kafi's escape from secret sources. Then a group of them was able to arrest him from Shahjalal Airport at around 10 pm on Monday after various dramas throughout the day.

Earlier, Dhaka District Police Superintendent Ahmad Mueed said that the identity of the person wearing the police vest and helmet or those who were carrying the dead body in the van and around was written about in various media. Three people have already been identified.

He said, 'We have already identified three people. I have already made an inquiry committee. They are already inquiring. A complete report will come.'

Terming this incident as a 'criminal offence', he said that in addition to the criminal case, measures will be taken under the rules of government employees. However, the names cannot be disclosed now.

He said, 'These three people were in charge of that police station area. We are not disclosing the name at this time. For further investigation. They are all identified, all. Visible, and since there is video. At the same time, the police are working in plain clothes as well as the information provided by the journalists.'

Police Superintendent of Dhaka District said, 'These members of the police are being sought to be brought under the law. So it will be difficult to find them if their identity is revealed. We will identify it as soon as possible and complete the legal process regarding them.'
