Sweetest Reason Boyfriend Wakes Up at 3:30am on His Day Off Every Week

A woman has shared on TikTok the heartwarming thing her boyfriend does for her every week when she leaves for work in the morning.

Mica, 22, works as a baker and lives with boyfriend Jamie in Queensland, Australia. Since they moved in together, Jamie has been walking his girlfriend to the train station for work—waking up at 3:30 a.m. to do so.

“Jamie started walking me to and from the station ever since we started dating and moved in together. We work at the same shop, and he does this for several reasons. He wants to make sure I am safe and not walking alone. Since we’re saving for a car, he also wants me to save money from booking an Uber because I’m a student with tuition to pay,” Mica told Newsweek.

Their commute involves a short walk from their apartment to the station, a 20-minute train ride, and another 20-minute walk to the workplace.

Despite the early start, Mica loves that she gets to spend the morning with Jamie.

“I really do hate walking as much as waking up at 3:30 am but waking up and walking with my boyfriend to work even on his only days off makes me feel secure and motivated to start my day. Even when he’s hungover, he still walks with me because he can’t go back to sleep until he knows I’ve arrived safely. Seeing him pick me up from work is the best reward after a long day,” she said.

Mica often captures short video snippets of her day-to-day life, and decided last month to post the moment her boyfriend walked her to the station on TikTok where it has now been viewed more than 600,000 times.

TikTok users shared their reactions in the comments section—praising Jamie for waking up early for his girlfriend.

Despite lots of positive comments, there was also the negative note suggesting that Mica was forcing her boyfriend to wake up early, but the couple were unaffected by the negativity.

“People saying he’s a keeper to others throwing hate at me because they think I force him to do it is just funny,” Mica told Newsweek. “They fight in the comment section, but it doesn’t get to me.”
