The accused in the arms case in Khagrachari is a five -year sentence

The court has sentenced one accused to five years rigorous imprisonment under the Arms Act in Khagrachari.

On Sunday (July 23), Judge Shayla Sharmin of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court (Special Tribunal-1) of Khagrachari (Special Tribunal-1) issued the verdict in the presence of the accused.

The convicted accused, Khandra Tripura (1), is the son of Tripura, a resident of Kaikadang Harisha Para, Sadar Union of Matiranga Upazila.

According to court sources, Chittagong RAB-1 arrested Khandra Tripura with a pistol (LG), a magazine and three rounds of bullets on January 5, 2012 on the basis of secret news from Matiranga Municipality. He was sent to jail by a court on the day after the case was filed against Khajendra Tripura under the Arms Act at Matiranga Police Station that night. After a few months, he was out on bail after a long time.

Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Jasim Uddin of the Additional District and Sessions Judge Court of Khagrachari said the judge gave the verdict in the presence of the accused on Sunday after the long argument and testimony of the case. The accused Khandra Tripura has been convicted under section 4 (A) of the Arms Act of 3 and the court has sentenced him to five years rigorous imprisonment under Section 3 (F).

Although there are numerous weapons cases against the members of the regional armed party in Khagrachari, it is the verdict of the first case. Therefore, the people of civil society have demanded a rapid effect in such other weapons cases.
