The body of a schoolboy named Aditya Chakraborty (8) has been recovered 8 days after he went missing in the river Ganga along with his mother and grandmother on Chaitra Sankranti in Nalchiti, Jhalkathi.

The body was recovered from the bank of Sugandha River in Charbaharampur area of ​​the upazila on Saturday (April 20) around 10 pm. Manoranjan Mistry, OC (Investigation) of Nalchiti police station confirmed.

Aditya Chakraborty was the son of Shimul Chakraborty, a studio businessman in the city's Baturtala area, and was a class III student at Nalchiti Bandar Government Primary School.

Earlier, last Saturday (April 13) at around 10 am, Aditya Chakraborty came to the bank of river Sugandha to bathe in the Ganges with his grandmother and mother. Later the three bathed together. At this time, Aditya was swept away by the river. On receiving the news, a diving team and Coast Guard members came from Barisal and started searching for the missing child. But he was not found.

Nalchiti Police Station OC (Investigation) Manoranjan Mistry said that the locals saw a body floating and informed the police station. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. At that time, his family confirmed that the body was that of Aditya.
