The court has sentenced the youth to life imprisonment in the child rape case

A seven-year-old child was raped in Bagatipara upazila of Natore. The court sentenced a youth named Dulal Hossain (31) to life imprisonment. At the same time, he has been ordered to pay a fine of 50 thousand rupees to the victim.

The incident happened 13 years ago. Judge (District and Sessions Judge) Muhammad Abdur Rahim of Nato Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal gave the verdict at around 12 noon on Wednesday (September 4). At that time, the accused was present in the court.

The victim's home is in Charghat Upazila of Rajshahi District. At the time of the incident, the accused was 18 years old and the child was seven years old. Both their homes are in the border area of ​​Natore and Rajshahi districts.

Advocate Anisur Rahman, Special Public Prosecutor (Special PP) of NATO Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal confirmed this information and said that the child was playing on the street near the house at around 11 am on July 2, 2011. At that time, Dulal Peyara lured the child and took him to his house. Later, Dulal took the child to the tailor's shop next to the house and raped her. Hearing the screams of the child, another child nearby informed the victim's mother. Later the child's mother went and rescued him. And Dulal quickly ran away from the scene.

Later the child was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for treatment. The day after this incident, on July 3, the child's grandfather, Abdul Aziz, filed a rape case accusing Dulal Hossain at Bagatipara police station.

After investigating the case, the police filed a charge sheet in the court on August 16 of the same year. After a long hearing of the case, the judge gave the verdict based on the evidence.
