The death toll has risen to 23 due to severe floods in 11 districts of the country. Apart from this, more than 55 lakh people have been affected. The secretary said that vast areas of 11 districts of the country have been affected by severe floods. The districts are: Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Khagrachari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Laxmipur and Cox's Bazar.

He said, 12 lakh 38 thousand 48 families of these areas have become watertight. 57 lakh 1 thousand 204 people were affected. 23 people have died in the flood so far.

Earlier, Secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry said in a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon. Kamrul Hasan said that there is no danger of flooding any new area. He said, overall, the flood situation in 11 districts is improving. No new areas are being flooded and there is no threat of it.

Meanwhile, 20 crores has been allocated on an emergency basis for quick relief and rescue operations in the flood-affected areas in the south-eastern part of the country.
