In the meeting, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights briefed the Chief Adviser about the work of the UN Fact-Finding Mission and his meeting with government advisers, army chiefs, reform commission chiefs, student representatives and officials during the visit to Dhaka.
At that time, Falker Turk told the chief adviser that the UN fact-finding mission is continuing to investigate the atrocities committed during the mass uprising in July-August. He also expressed hope that the report will be finalized by the first week of December.
Falker Turk also discusses the work of the International Criminal Tribunal for Bangladesh, which is investigating crimes against humanity committed during the revolution. He also discussed the reform commission formed by the interim government for the proper reform of the country's institutions.
Falker Turk said that he had spoken with the members of the investigation commission about many cases of forced disappearances that occurred during the dictatorial regime. There are many things that need to be fixed, he said. His office is assisting the Commission of Inquiry in investigating the disappearances.

Falker Turk called for more international support for Rohingya refugees and continued efforts to resolve the crisis.
The Chief Adviser sought UN assistance in creating a safe zone in Myanmar's Rakhine state so that internally displaced people from the region could stay closer to their homelands.
They both expressed efforts to take 'some dynamic initiatives' for the earliest sustainable solution to this regional issue and called for a stronger role for ASEAN in this regard.
