The government will protect the rights of every citizen: Dr. Yunus

Interim government chief advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus referred to the entire Bangladesh as a family and said, 'where the government's responsibility is to protect the rights of every citizen.'

On the occasion of Janmashtami, the Chief Adviser said this while exchanging greetings with Sanatan religious leaders at the Rashtriya Guest House Yamuna. Janashtami is the auspicious birthday of Lord Krishna of Sanatan Hindu community.

Addressing the leaders of the Hindu community, Professor Yunus said that he wants to build a Bangladesh where everyone can practice their religion without fear and where there is no need to guard any temple.

He said, 'Our responsibility is to protect the rights of every citizen and ensure justice.'

Addressing the Sanatan religious leaders, the chief adviser said, 'There can be no division between people in our country. Equal rights for all people irrespective of caste and religion. The Interim Government is strongly committed to protecting the rights of every citizen of the country.'

Hindu leaders congratulated the chief adviser on the occasion of Janmashtami and said that they prayed for peace and harmony in Bangladesh and its prosperity and the success of the interim government.

Hindu leaders said that due to the flood situation in the country, Janmashtami celebrations have been postponed and food and relief have been sent there.

Sanatan religious leaders praised the speech given by the chief adviser when he recently visited the historic Dhakeshwari temple in the capital. They said, this statement will help to build communal society and ensure religious harmony in the country.

Kajal Debnath and Manindra Kumar Nath of Hindu Buddhist Khistran Oikya Parishad, Charu Charan Brahmachari of International Sri Krishna Bhavana Sangh ISKCON, Vasudev Dhar and Santosh Sharma of Bangladesh Puja Udjaj Parishad and Preeti Chakraborty of Universal Medical College and Hospital were present during the exchange of greetings.
