The new Director General of Bangla Academy Dr. Mohammad Azam

The new Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy is writer and professor Dr. Mohammad Azam According to the order of the President on Thursday (September 5), this information was informed in a notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Muhammad Ibrahim.

It is said in the notification, according to Section 26 (2) and Section 26 (3) of Bangla Academy Act 2013, Professor Dr. Mohammad Azam has been appointed as Director General of Bangla Academy for the next 3 years from the date of joining as per the condition of renouncing all affiliations with other institutions and organizations.

Born on August 23, 1975 in Hatiya, Noakhali. Mohammad Azmer. He did his graduation and post graduation in Bangla Department from Dhaka University. Then after doing long research on language colonization and decolonization, he got PhD degree. He is working as a professor in the Bengali Department of Dhaka University.

Dr. Mohammad Azam's notable books are 'Bangla and Standard Bangla Samachar', 'Selected Poems: Syed Ali Ahsan' (edited), 'Poets and Poetry in Search'.
