The position of the people in demanding the resignation of UNO of Panch Bibi alleging irregularities

Hundreds of women and men stood in front of the office demanding resignation of PanchBB Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Arifa Sultana for various irregularities and corruption allegations. Various slogans can be seen at this time.

On Tuesday (August 20), hundreds of women and men of different ages gathered in front of the office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and took a position demanding the resignation of the UNO due to irregularities and corruption and chanting slogans. Later, UNO promised to forget the past and work afresh in the hand mic in front of everyone.

At this time, the protestors said that in the past, the Upazila Nirbahi officials have harassed the common people in various institutions of the Upazila in collusion with the leaders and activists of Awami League. Recruitment in different educational institutes and different street trees of the upazila were secretly sold through tenders. Widespread irregularities in pond leases have led to corruption. Apart from this, Upazila Parishad Chairman Zaheun Nahar Shikha held office regularly even in unstable conditions. But the upazila executive officer Arifa Sultana gave her report that the upazila parishad chairman is absent. Former Upazila Parishad Chairman Shikha has no affiliation with any political party. Even after that, the residents of the area became angry because of the report that the upazila chairman was absent.

The agitators are demanding the resignation of this upazila executive officer who is accused of corruption. Later, with the help of the army, the situation became somewhat normal as the UNO promised to work with everyone again, forgetting the earlier talk.

PanchBB Upazila Nirbahi Officer Aripa Sultana said that this incident happened due to misunderstanding. He denied the allegations leveled against him. He said that he promised to forget the past and take everyone with him to work with new enthusiasm.
